Ten Tips For A Healthy, Clear Complexion

Spend money on good skincare. You get what you pay for, and if you want results you need cosmeceuticals. If your happy to spend money on designer handbags and shoes but not your skin you need to rethink things.

Exfoliate only once or twice per week. Exfoliation is essential for healthy skin and to promote healthy cell turnover but any more often can strip the skin of it's natural oils, and unbalance the acid mantle.

Masks are essential to boost skincare and give skin a pick me up. Use after exfoliating once a week.

Cleanse your skin EVERY night! That doesnt mean its ok not to on the odd night just because your too tired, it means EVERY night.

Exercise is the best way to de-stress. When you are under stress it severely impacts on your skin, you can breakout, look sallow and depleted and dark circles under the eyes are more prevalent. Exercise is key to break this cycle, a walk in the fresh air can clear your head. Yoga is also a good way of bringing your head back into your body.

K.I.S.S., keep in simple...stupid. Don't overdo it with products, theres a reason why beauty editors notorously have the worst skin. They get sent hundreds of samples and constantly feed their skin different things which can impact the skin in other ways. Best to stick to a simple yet effective routine.

Change with the seasons. In winter skin can become dry and dull so exfoliating weekly is essential, also ensuring your skin gets the right nutrients, swop out your cleanser for an oil based product and use products rich in EFAs. In summer opt for a gel cleanser to balance excess sebum, along with a light-weight moisturiser.

Improve nutritional intake. Feed your skin from the inside, ensure you get a lot of EFAs and vitamins. Start your day with a cup of warm water with lemon to increase your metabolism and detoxify. Cut out sugar, sugar destroys collagen. simple.

Massage your skin. Increase blood and lymph circulation, detoxify the skin, remove toxins. Generally improve the appearance of skin, giving it a healthy glow. I like to massage while cleansing, spend a good 3-4 minutes daily doing so.

Water, its the best skincare product. Drink at least 8 glasses per day, more if you are exercising, in a hot environment or sweating excessively.
